Academy Day

Getting to school

To get to and from school, walking is definitely the best option! There are lots of benefits: it’s healthier than travelling by car, it improves the safety of pedestrians and road-users, and it respects nearby residents and parking regulations. Alternatively, we have bike-racks. If you do need to travel by car, please park wisely and note that parking is prohibited on Smedley Lane. The Academy Day

The school doors open at 8:40 and school finishes at 3:15pm.  Registration is from 8.50am to 9.00am.

Break Times

Children in KS1 and KS2 have morning breaks of 15 minutes. They get to eat fruit or a healthy snack from home and spend time with their friends.  Children in EYFS have breaks within their daily routines.

Lunch

Children in Nursery and Reception have lunch at 11:30am. Years 1-6 have lunch from 12:00pm - 13:00pm.

Gates

In the mornings, gates are open between 8:35 and 8:50. The doors open at 8:40 for the children to come in and start their school day.

After school, the gates are opened at 3:00 (3:05 for the togetherness playground where Y5/6 are collected).

Collection times

Nursery and Stepping Stones: 3:05

Reception - Y6: 3:15

The gates are locked at 3:25 as all children should have been collected by this time.

At the beginning and end of the school day, parents are encouraged into the playground. This helps to build up a close relationship between home and school – we want to have good links with all parents.  If normal arrangements have to be altered (e.g. you are delayed or another person is collecting your child) please let us know.  This avoids any confusion or upset and is an essential part of our safeguarding procedures.
