Girls' Football Tournament at Temple

Girls' Football Tournament at Temple

The first inter-academy girls’ football competition amongst Oasis primary academies in the Northwest.

There were glorious goals, crunching tackles and cheers of jubilation as teams took to the field in a hard-contested tournament to find out who was best. No, I’m not talking about the World Cup, but the first inter-academy girls’ football competition amongst Oasis primary academies in the Northwest. Lioness-inspired teams from Oasis Academies Harpur Mount, Broadoak, Aspinall, Clarksfield & Limeside joined the team at Oasis Academy Temple for an afternoon of footballing fun and healthy competition. It was a great occasion and each team put in tremendous efforts on the pitch. However, only one academy could finish on top of the table and, when the dust settled, Harpur Mount ended the day deserved champions!

The players had a fantastic time of it – for some it was their first chance ever to take part in an inter-school competition – and this will hopefully be the first of many Oasis Academy competitions in the region. A huge thank you goes out to all the staff who made the day possible for our girls, and a big well done to all the players for their efforts on the pitch!
