Welcome back message and Important information about how to protect yourself against Covid-19.
4th January 2022
Dear Parents and Carers,
Please let me take this opportunity to wish you all a very Happy New Year. I hope that you have had a restful break and enjoyed the school holidays.
We are very much looking forward to welcoming children back at their normal start time tomorrow, Wednesday 5th January, and continuing the fantastic start they have made to their learning this year.
Reducing Coronavirus Transmission
As you will be aware, due the emergence of the Omicron variant, Coronavirus cases have been rising around the country. The vaccine remains the best protection against serious illness with Coronavirus but in order to ensure that we limit any disruption to our pupil’s education we will be taking some additional measures in school to help reduce any potential transmission.
From tomorrow there will be several measures in place to help reduce any mixing between year groups, this will support us in maintaining a continuity of education for pupils as far as possible. A key part that families can play in supporting us is through the use of regular testing using lateral flow devices. Lateral flow devices can be obtained online using the following link https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests
What to do if you or your child has symptoms
If your child has any of the following symptoms; then they should stay home and take a PCR test as soon as possible. If your child develops these symptoms in school you will be asked to collect your child and conduct a PCR test before returning them to school.
The main symptoms of coronavirus are:
• A high temperature
• A new, continuous cough
• A loss of change to your sense of smell or taste
Ending Isolation Early
It is now also possible to end isolation early via the use of lateral flow test. The below image gives information about how this process works.
If you have any questions about any of the above do not hesitate to get in touch with the office who will be happy to help.
Thank you for helping us keep everyone in our community well and we look forward to seeing all children back to school tomorrow.
