On Wednesday the 9th October all the children at Oasis Academy Temple, in two separate assemblies, witnessed an amazing performance of tribal dance and music from The Mighty Zulu Warriors who are on a tour of the UK from Durban in South Africa.
On Wednesday the 9th October all the children at Oasis Academy Temple, in two separate assemblies, witnessed an amazing performance of tribal dance and music from The Mighty Zulu Warriors who are on a tour of the UK from Durban in South Africa.
The children were in awe of the amazing cultural display, which was full of energy and colour. The children’s applause and cheers lifted the roof of our hall and several classes got the opportunity to do a practical workshops in the hall which they really enjoyed.
Our favourite habit at Temple is being Joyful and the children and staff spent the whole performance smiling, clapping and cheering which created a wonderful atmosphere around the Academy as part of our focus for Black History month and reinforcing our All Different All Equal school motto of inclusion and celebration of diversity.
The children said :
‘It was the most amazing performance I’ve ever seen’
‘I couldn’t take my eyes off the dancers’
‘The singing was so loud but I loved it’
Another year 4 child wanted to know ‘how can learn to dance like that - who teaches them ?’ ‘ I want to learn like they do!’
